PRESIDENTS REPORT:

·        INTRODUCTION OF NEW MEMBERS/ GUESTS: Kimberly Taylor, Elizabeth Gutierrez, Kris Golden and Brittney Crable

 

·         ITEMS FOR SALE: Hats ($8), T-shirts ($10), New Chapter/Division Coin ($5)

 

·         One Sky High Member Goal reached, Way to Go Trustee Miller!  Mark Stewart is well on his way to making our second Sky Higher member, meeting this year’s recruitment goal.

 

·        Thanks to all that contributed time and items for the flea market on Sept 14th. $300.00 was earned, and half of the proceeds will be donated to “The House that Kerry built”.

 

·        Thank you to all the participants in the “9/11 Hope and Rembrance ceremonies at 1st Baptist church.

 

 

VICE PRESIDENTS REPORT: absent

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

·        AAC: Adam Ficca; absent

 

·        LEGISLATIVE UPDATE: Mark Meloy stated that he e-mailed information to all  AFSA members; if you have not received information, update e-mail addresses

 

MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: Rick Miller; briefed on membership drive scheduled on Oct 15th.  Tickets will be given for prizes as an incentive to new members. See attachment for membership information.

 

VETERANS & RETIRED AFFAIRS:  information e-mailed to members; please update e-mail addresses

 

·        COMMUNICATIONS:  Monica Hill, absent

 

·        RECOGNITION: Christina Betencourt; briefed on volunteer spreadsheet; each AFSA member has individual spreadsheet to document volunteer hours, kept in binder located next to sign in sheet.

 

·        SECRETARY: Gaye Toney, no comment

 

UPCOMING EVENTS/OLD BUSINESS:

·        Volunteers needed to do yard work for “The house that Kerry built”, scheduled for September 28th.  Will meet at “Jack and Jill donuts” at 0800.

 

·        Christmas party is scheduled at Abilene State school pavilion on December 17th at 1830 till 1930 (6:30 till 7:30pm). Bring presents for children prior to party, so that Santa can pass them out later that evening.  Lists are available to determine what dishes you wish to bring.  Jim Allar and Mark Gore volunteered to cook the meat at the dining facility for the Christmas party.
