AFSA was founded in 1961 by four Air Force enlisted people to represent the professional and quality-of-life concerns of all Air Force and reserve component enlisted members. This includes active duty, and retired and their families on Capitol Hill and in the pentagon. Through its many programs, worldwide chapters, Auxiliary and affiliates, AFSA also reaches out to bases and communities to help those in need and to raise awareness of the sacrifices and concerns of those who have worn or are wearing stripes.
